We finish our furniture with Rubio Monocoat, an advanced hardwax oil that forms a molecular bond with the wood fibres instead of creating a synthetic film on top. This process results in a durable, matte finish that preserves the natural look and feel of the wood grain. It protects the wood from within, keeping the surface looking and feeling like real wood.
From a repair perspective, unlike traditional varnishes that require full refinishing, any future scratches or scuffs can be spot-repaired seamlessly without leaving marks. This makes it a practical, renewable finish that is simple to keep looking its best for years to come.
Lastly, the finish contains 0% Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs), is GreenGuard Certified and Food Contact Compliant, making it a safe choice for your home and family. You can read more about Rubio Monocoat’s certifications here.

Solid wood
It’s becoming harder and harder to find furniture built out of solid wood. Almost every piece of furniture you can find today will involve MDF or manufactured wood of some sort, with a thin veneer on top. It doesn’t have much character, it breaks easily and if you chip the surface, you won’t be able to fix it. This isn't great for customers or the environment.
We wanted to do something different: all of our furniture is built using North American hardwoods that are harvested from FSC certified sources. We offer red oak, white oak and walnut but can also use other wood species if requested.

Our storage system is designed to be a natural extension of your space. Its modular framework allows it to be configured to the dimensions of your room and designed according to your needs.

Made and shipped efficiently
Custom made, solid wood furniture is typically very expensive. Much of that cost is the labour and the wood. However, a significant portion is also made up of costs that don’t add much value to the customer:
Our approach tries to limit these costs by: shipping our furniture in boxes via UPS and Canada Post, enabling easy customization, and building the same pieces over and over to optimize the process as much as possible.
Beyond just the cost savings, there are also space limitations to navigate: you can’t fit a large storage piece in an elevator or around a tight corner. However, with our modular approach, even something like our large cube bookshelf is accessible to most apartments.
